One of the reasons that the next Murray Whelan novel is taking so much time is my relatively poor knowledge of Federal parliament. Since Murray’s elevation to the national sphere, I have battled somewhat to give full flesh to his daily grind in the corridors of Canberra.
Last week, in pursuit of both general texture and specific procedures, I spent three days in Parliament House, Canberra.
I’m not claiming credit, but I’d scarcely arrived before the Labor Party changed leaders.
