For the past few years, I have been collaborating with illustrator Chris Grosz on ‘Australian Encounters’ – a series of historical vignettes published in The Monthly magazine. The first 50 of these have now been published in a collection by Black Inc. I am currently doing press interviews and talking about the book on the radio. I was recently interviewed by Ramona Koval on the ABC’s Book Show and there has been considerable interest in the intriguing range of historical events and situations depicted in these brief stories. Their potential for adaption into short films, using Chris' animation skills, has been spotted by a film producer and we are hopeful they might eventually make the transition from page to screen.
The books are attractively priced for gift-giving.
